Your Pet's First Visit
A pet's first visit to the vet can seem a bit daunting, so we've put together a list of info and resources to help you prepare.
At your first appointment, we will gather information about your pet’s background, health, diet, and training. We can also address any questions or concerns you might have.
Your veterinarian will examine your pet from nose-to-tail, looking for things like heart murmurs, ear infections, and/or parasites. Your vet can also provide pet-proofing tips, training assistance, and parasite protection recommendations.

Appointment Policies
Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your pet's appointment for check-in. If you have not filled out all relevant patient forms yet, plan to arrive 10 minutes ahead of your appointment.
While we do our best to make sure all of our patients are seen on time, there will be times of occasional unexpected delay due to an emergency or because we are providing care for a patient that needs a little more time. Please accept our apologies should this occur, and understand that the same dedication and courtesy will be provided to your pet should they ever need it.
"Where to go when your beloved family pet is ill or injured? You're anxious and need help now. You dont want to hand them over to just anyone... Don't panic! All of the staff at Jersey Village Animal Hospital (JVAH) are there for you with expertise, efficiency, and, best of all, respect and empathy. They know your pet is not just an animal but a member of your family, so they will not roll their eyes at your concerns. We have a cat who we got in Scotland when we lived there and, of course, brought back with us to the US along with her brother. We have been taking them to JVAH for 8 years, and JVAH are second to none. Our Oscar passed a couple of years ago, and the folks at JVAH met his every need and our every concern. It was so hard, but they were so thoughtful. We continue to take Twiggy when it's required, and they are so good to her. But more importantly, they are thorough. We want to thank Dr. Daily, the technicians who assisted, and the kind front of house staff for their professionalism and sensitivity during Twiggy's recent UTI episode. We wish you all a very happy and blessed New Year in 2024."
